With his stuff situated in his room, it was time to look up the ExOh. Ziggy went to the computer terminal at his desk even as he checked the time. It was a early in the afternoon, and as the ship was taking on supplies and crew for getting ready for departure, the ExOh could be anywhere on board doing his tasks.

Now, Ziggy already had the rank and name of the Executive Officer from Petty Officer Chevron, so he keyed up the terminal and asked, "Computer, what is the current location of Lieutenant Commander Vero?"

"The XO is in his office," the computer answered his query.

Ziggy replied, "Thank you, Computer." He knew he didn't need to say anything as it was the computer, but he was raised to always be polite unless in emergencies when niceties could be dispensed with to allow for quick actions and decisions.

Ziggy left his room and went to the Turbolift. He stated, "Senior Officer Offices Deck". It was a short trip. He left the turbolift and went to the wall to look up the placement of the Chief Department Heads Offices. Finding the XO Office, he looked at where he was at and moved off to the office. Ziggy arrived, then hit the door chime.

Max sipped a small expresso as he worked through some paperwork. When the chime to his office went off he looked in the doors direction and said loudly, "Come in."

The annunciator let the order come through the door and it opened. Ziggy strode into the room, came to attention, then stated, "Helmsman Ensign Zichen Ikras Grar Gleck Yansakan reporting as ordered, Sir." As it was customary for Boda's with their elaborate names and meanings, Ziggy stated his entire name after his rank.

Max kept his face neutral thinking well that was one hell of a name to remember. Luckily he would be able to get round it by just calling him Ensign Yansakan. "Welcome aboard Ensign. At ease. How was your trip over?" he asked.

Ziggy went to ease, then answered. "Thank you sir. My trip was almost fun... if they would have only let me fly the shuttle..." A grin was upon Ziggy's face as he did the customary helmsman lament and pause, then he continued. "That said, everything is going well, Sir. I had finished my cadet cruise and was at Earth's star base when my orders came to transfer to the Pisces, I already have received my quarters, and I have my stuff inside." He mused for a second, then continued, "I hope your transition to the ship was as uneventful as mine, sir."

"It was fairly peaceful," Max said. "I met a lovely lady on her way to a Vulcan conference has promised to stay in touch and let me know how it went. So presently we have no flight chief. I am working on finding an appropriate candidate. So your likely to get a little more bridge time until that person is in place."

Ziggy responded, "Sorry to hear about no flight chief yet, however, more bridge time is very fine with me, I look forward to it until we get one. On your transition, nice to hear peaceful, and meeting a lovely lady, of course, is always promising. I have a girlfriend myself I am hoping to ask for marriage, once I have proven myself and earned the next rank in starfleet. That said, first, any word on when the ship will be ready to be taken out from the stardock? And next, anything you would like me to do in helping to get her ready?"

"I believe the Captain is calling a Senior staff briefing tomorrow morning so I will know more then. In terms of what to do, all the readiness checks. Familiarise yourself with all controls. Get yourself settled in to your quarters and familiarise yourself with the ship. I myself have walked round all departments and got my bearings," Max informed him.

"Actually one thing you can do," he said remembering his conversation with the Engineering chief, "Collate a list of everyone who is qualified to fly a shuttle. As flight is a little understaffed at present we may need to call upon additional people if we end up in a situation requiring more than one shuttle piloting. You can add my name to that list."

Ziggy held his head in a certain way while his muzzle kept time to each instruction. At the end, he replied, "Understood. Familiarize with checks, controls, ship and while doing so, ask about piloting experience with your name already on the list, more information tomorrow. Got it. Thank you, Sir." He thought for a second, then added, "And, sir, when off duty, my nickname is Ziggy. It is a lot shorter than my full Boda name, which, from what I gather from Boda refuges living on Bardex III, is still middle of the road. Anything else before I start in on the familiarize times 3, Sir?"

"Not that I am aware," Max said. "You are dismissed Ensign."

Ziggy came to attention, replied, "Sir, yes sir," and then did a very nice about face. Of course, his tail did an intricate maneuver to keep him fully at attention while performing the pirouette to be 180 degrees from Commander Vero. He strode to the door, opened it, and continued on to his assigned duties.

Past the Doors of the ExOh's office, Ziggy remarked out in a voice saying, "Nice. The ExOh seems all there with a touch upon the crew. I like him." He continued on to get back to his quarters to make a plan to then go to the bridge, then roam between the bridge and the Shuttle bay while hoping to run into other crew to find out if they have shuttle experience. He had no issues to initiate contact, after all, as a Boda, he was unusual enough to allow for 'first' contact with any crew he came across. He laughed to himself as he recounted, "It is no wonder the ship is too hot, there being a Tellarite Captain keeping the swamp running... " Keeping his thoughts to himself, unless he ran into the captain, he continued on with his orders.
